Earthworks of two linear and curvilinear banks which are north to south aligned and circa 2.5m wide are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the south of Bickington Barton, Bickington. Associated with these banks to the north is a sub-circular banked enclosure, circa 14m diameter, with an internal pit. The southern extent of the earthworks corresponds with a curvilinear field boundary shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although the remaining earthworks are not shown, and the corresponding land parcel is recorded as an orchard on the Tithe Apportionment. They are interpreted as relict field boundaries, with associated enclosure of uncertain function, which are of potential medieval date and which had largely passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
