A linear ditch, circa 4.5m wide, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2006 and from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the north of South Knighton, Ilsington. The broadly northwest to southeast aligned earthwork is in keeping with the historic field patterns of small land parcels depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although does not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. It is interpreted as a relict field boundary which defines a post-medieval land parcel of a possible former orchard which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
