Narrow curvilinear ditches less than 2m wide are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards, to the southeast of Greenhill Farm, Newton Abbot. The visible earthwork channels roughly follow the contours of the southwest and northeast facing combe slopes and occupy an area of circa 1.45 hectares. They are interpreted as the gutters of a 19th century catch meadow irrigation system that likely taps a watercourse at Greenhill Farm and which had probably passed out of use by the early-mid 20th century. The earthworks remain visible on aerial photographs taken in 1988.
