Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Linear earthwork banks, between 3m to 12m wide, partly flanked by ditches, circa 3m wide, are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2013, on south facing slope to the north of Otter Court, Ilsington. The earthworks are north to south and northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of circa 3.95 hectares. The earthworks to the west are narrower than those to the north and east and partly define a number of rectilinear enclosures. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or later available historic maps and broadly respect the historic field pattern depicted in this location on these maps characterised as post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements. They are therefore interpreted as possible relict medieval or post-medieval field boundaries, with associated rectilinear land parcels, which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
