Linear and curvilinear ditches, circa 5m wide, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1964 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, broadly parallel to the northeast facing slopes to the southwest of Higher Staplehill, Newton Abbot. They do not correspond with any linear or curvilinear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps and are tentatively interpreted as possible post-medieval or 19th century water channels or gutters of a possible catch meadow system.
