An irregularly shaped pit, circa 115m long by 55m wide, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the south of Greycoat Lane, Teigngrace. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, although does coincide with an area of woodland on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval or early 19th century quarry which had likely passed out of use when the area was given over to woodland by the late 19th century. The earthwork is not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
