A curvilinear ditch or hollow circa 3m wide and 230m long is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards as an earthwork on the north-west facing slopes overlooking the A38, north-west of Chudleigh.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey. It is interpreted as an unplanned track or path of post-medieval to 19th century date, although it may be associated with a possible small catch meadow immediately to the north.
The earthwork remains visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
