An earthwork hollow or scarp up to circa 20m wide and 530m long is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, crossing the west-facing slopes north of the A38, within Ugbrooke Park, Chudleigh, between Boxhills Copse and Wapperwell Cottages.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any route depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey. The south-west end of the visible earthworks may however be aligned on a crossroads at Wapperwell. A number of lesser hollows arrayed around this point might indicate it was a point previously approached from a number of directions. The date of the possible route is unknown but it is interpreted as the remains of a former route, perhaps a pre-enclosure trackway, probably predating the creation of Ugbrooke Park.
