A curvilinear hollow or narrow terrace is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, as an earthwork up to 6m wide and 730m long, crossing the Kate Brook valley from Chudleigh Rocks in the north-west to the north-west facing slopes of Ugbrooke Park in the south-east.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century historic maps available to the survey but is visible, as a cropmark, at its south-east end in Ugbrooke Park abutting a second linear earthwork, a possible track or hollow way that partly follows the parish boundary between Chudleigh and Kingsteignton (MDV102670).
The curvilinear earthwork is interpreted as a trackway or hollow way of probable medieval date that was removed from use prior to circa 1840, possibly by the creation of Ugbrooke Park.
