Royal Air Force, 1946, RAF/CPE/UK/1824, RAF/CPE/UK/1824 RP 3093-3094 04-NOV-1946 (Aerial Photograph). SDV352344.

Narrow banks are visible as earthworks.

Environment Agency, 1998-2017, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution) EA: South Devon Coast to Dartmoor, LIDAR SX8578 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 31-MAY-2017 (Cartographic). SDV361470.

The banks are not visible but coincide with broad hollows or ditches.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Earthwork banks up to circa 3m wide are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s to 1980s defining a rectilinear enclosure or plot approximately 135 by 30m in size, on the floodplain of the River Teign east of Pitt House, Hennock. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Hennock but do match alignments of trees depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map, probably evidence of former hedgerow planting. The banks are not visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 but coincide with broad but shallow hollows, possibly former boundary ditches. This might support the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of field boundaries of medieval to 19th century date, cleared prior to circa 1840 and now largely plough levelled.
