Three curvilinear ditches are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as earthworks on the the east-facing combe slopes overlooking the Ugbrooke Stream, south-east of Gappah Cross, Kingsteignton.
The earthworks are roughly parallel, circa 17 to 25m apart, and closely follow the contours of the slope. They are interpreted as the remains of a small catch meadow of probable post-medieval to 19th century date, a form of water meadow irrigation popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries but which originated in the medieval period. It was probably supplied with water by a spring fed stream to the north, depicted on the Ordnance Survey MasterMap as rising at circa SX86837782.
