Linear banks are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as slight earthwork banks on the north-west facing slopes west of Ugbrooke House, Ugbrooke Park, Chudleigh.
The earthwork measure up to circa 3m wide and define regular, rectilinear boundaries. They appear to enclose an area of possible orchard banks at circa SX87177794.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey. They are interpreted as the remains of former field boundaries possibly of post-medieval origin, that were removed prior to circa 1840, possibly for the creation of Ugbrooke Park.
