A curvilinear earthwork hollow up to 30m wide and 260m long is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 on the west facing slopes to the east of Olchard, Ideford. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but are in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern, which has been characterised as medieval fields based on strip fields. The earthwork is interpreted as the very plough spread remains of a former field boundary of probable medieval origin that was removed prior to circa 1840.
