An earthwork hollow 4 to 10m wide and circa 106m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork hollow on the west-facing slopes to the west of Ideford village. The earthwork is interpreted as a former footpath to a well at the western end of the hollow, depicted on the OS 1880s First Edition 25inch map, and labelled as a spring on the OS MasterMap. The possible path remains visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar captured in 2013.
