Four curvilinear ditches are visible on a digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2002 as earthworks on the south-west facing slopes south-west of Lower Collybrook Farm, Ideford.
The earthworks are roughly parallel and closely follow the contours of the slope. They are interpreted as the gutters of a small catch meadow of probable post-medieval to 19th century date, a form of water meadow irrigation popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries but which originated in the medieval period. A ditch to the north-east appears to connect the ditches with a drain from the Colly Brook, at circa SX89317709, and probably supplied the system with water.
