Mounds, pits and trackways probably clay workings of mid-20th century date, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946, between the River Teign and the B3193, Kingsteignton. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the 1930s 4th edition 25inch Ordnance Survey map and therefore probably relate to a phase of extractive activity that took place between circa 1930 and 1946. All earthworks visible in 1946 were subsequently destroyed by later wider scale quarrying.
