Ordnance Survey, 1930 - 1939, Fourth Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV336668.

The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit depicted on the OS 1930s Fouth Edition 25inch map.

A pit is visible as an earthwork.

The visible quarry has been destroyed by later large-scale clay extraction.

A rectilinear pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946, north of Preston, Kingsteignton. The pit does not correspond with any quarry depicted on the 1930s 4th edition 25inch Ordnance Survey map. It is there interpreted as a quarry pit, probably a clay pit of probable mid-20th century date. The visible quarry was destroyed by later large-scale clay extraction.
