Full description
Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.
In 1936, a Roman coin, a sestertius of Domitian, 81-96AD (Type: BMC II, 272, Nos. 231, 233) was found in a garden in York Road, St Michael's, Paignton at SX8857 5998. No further information is available on the site. [1]
The houses in York Road have changed hands since 1936; the grid reference equates to the alley between Nos. 28 and 30 York road.[2]
A duplicate entry of this find spot - SX86SE/39 now deleted - had a different grid reference SX8859 6005 which equates to the front garden of 12 York Road; this may of course be the correct ref.
