Full description
Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.
The site of a former windmill on Furzeham Common, Brixham. The mill was advertised in the Exeter Flying Post - 21 May 1818 - as newly-built and describing its machinery as modern; attached were a dwelling, stables and pigsties. The mill was in use at least up to the time of the tithe apportionment of 1838; the base was still standing in 1925 but it has since been demolished. [1]
There were two windmills at Brixham; that on Furzeham Common was advertised as including a Bake house in 1826. [2]
