Full description
Pye, A.R. & Slater, W.D., 1990, Berry Head Fort, Brixham, An Archaeological Survey, 23, Figs 12, 19 (Report - Survey). SDV362493.
At the western end of the part-ruined building which includes the eastern guardhouse is a cellar, or cistern, built within a natural hollow, or cut terrace. Only part of the north wall and a stub of the west one survives; there are 2 openings in the north wall with steeply sloping thresholds, which are probably lights to a cellar rather than cistern openings - there is no internal render or other lining.
