St Matthias: Parish Church of St Matthew designed by Salvin 1858: rough limestone rubble with ashlar dressings; south transept and south aisle 1865; further alterations by J L Pearson 1882-5, and 1894.
Chancel lower than navel; curious north-east turret, 'clumbs' gothic; west front rebuilt by Pearson 1894 with effective triple pointed arcade as porch. The interior has a rich marble pulpit and reredos dating from Pearson's alterations. List description at .
