A wall was observed in 1974-5 at the south-west boundary of a field below the field incorporating the hill top, west south-west of Edginswell Hall; its location then was no more accurate than within a 100m square box. It was poorly preserved and reported to be 30m long, 0.72m high but founded 0.3m below ground level, and 0.3 m thick; built of small mortared stones built into the natural hill slope. A slight ditch was visible in front of it. The wall was destroyed by the construction of the A380 Hamelin Way Torbay By-pass.

The low wall built into the slope with a ditch in front was interpreted by Gallant as a Ha-Ha. The OS County Series First Edition surveyed, 1861, shows a straight boundary between two fields: Nos 507 & 508a, between NGR SX88345 66051 and SX88363 66033 which may be a closer identification. Display on GIS has allowed a closer location than that reported by Gallant.
