A series of small quarries of c.1800, some of the number of quarries exploiting the most northerly outcrop of Devonian limestone in Torbay. These are on the north western side of the outcrop bounded in the main by Babbacombe Road, west of Walls Hills where the Devonian Slate, shales and grits begin
