Windmill Hill Quarry, one of a number of quarries from c.1800, exploiting the most northerly outcrop of Devonian limestone in Torbay. It is situated opposite Daison Quarry (SX96NW/82) across a narrow defile which was once the valley of the river flete. It was begun after 1861 and was in use in 1904 and 1933. By 1968 it was disused and had been built over. Its footprint is occupied by a number of depots and industrial units.
