Full description

Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.

A house called "Bittam" with 20 acres of land is shown on the Tithe Map.[1]
On the OS County Series First Edition 1:2500, surveyed in 1861, contained on a Torbay HBSMR GIS layer the shell of a building is shown on the north side of a small enclosure.
In late 1989 limited earthwork traces and two upstanding granite posts, circa 3 metres high (drill marks indicating a modern date, or machinery scratches were seen on them), were observed here to indicate the site of the former farmstead.[2]
