Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.

A emergency WWII water supply, or static, tank is located in the ground of the former Oldway mansion, now within the playground of Oldway Primary school; reported in 1998 to be up to 18 feet in diameter and 4-5 feet high. There is a blocked opening (?a hose hatch) in the boundary wall to Oldway Road on the north 90cm wide, 30cm high. [1]

In October 1999 the site was visted; it was observed from the boundary wall were that there was a concrete sectional structure of polygonal shape, raised c.1m above the ground surface, and c.5m diameter. The blocked opening (SX88614 61456) may also be interpreted as a gun loop. [2] Measurement of the tank through the GIS gives a diameter of 12m.
