Full description
Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.
Established in the mid-19C, the dispersed quarries are marked on the 1906 OS Second Edition County Series 1:2500, contained on a Torbay HBSMR GIS layer as 'old quarries'. Within the grounds of Beverley Park Caravan Centre they lie behind 13-19 Davies Avenue &, 55-59 Gibson Road, Paignton. The quarries were served by a limekiln (SX85NE/42/1).
A quarry is also shown on the Ordnance Survey 6 inch map of 1933 and on the Ordnance Survey 6 inch map of 1963.[1][2].
