The three-storey building was constructelt of random local imestone rubble, though some blocks are monumental in size; it was originally stuccoed and thatched. The last thatching was undertaken soon after WWII and remained until the 1950s, by 1963 the roof was in slate. By the late 1980s the building was roofless and decaying into a ruin.
