Full description
Discovery of Bronze Age Barrow in Ball Copse, Churston Ferrers (Personal Comment). SDV362377.
A possible bronze Age Barrow was observed by Mike Parker Pearson when living as a schooboy in Churston. The discovery was reported many years later (2011) to the then Historic Environment Officer by Parker Pearson during a drink in Churston Court. After which Parker Pearson attempted to re-identify the site, its approximate location is plotted on the GIS SX29108 56630. The site is c.15m north of his fieldwalking survey - ref. Field 61 in 2010 Enforcemnet order.
