Devon County Council, 1977-98, Former DCC SMR, SX95NW/14 (* Torbay Register). SDV362372.

Traces of earthworks and circles were observed on the south slope of Furzeham Hill before the houses in Manor Road were built. The 'circles' may have been surrounded by ridges; inside each was a 'pathway' of pebbles pitched on end, which may have served as a soakaway.

Furzeham Hill was the site of an infantry camp during the French revolutionary war. It is much more likely that these are the bases of ' Bell' tents. [HCB interpretation]
