Smerdon's Passage.
A large number of bones and more than 700 teeth, three limpet shells, charcoal and four good flint flakes were found.
In the second reach of the passage a further 2200 teeth, thirteen flint and chert flakes and chips were found; all were white except one, which is a well-designed but roughly-finished lanceolate implement. A lance-shaped bone tool was also found, flat on one face and uniformly convex on the other, but reduced to a thin edge all round the margin except at the butt end, where it was cut off abruptly, and tapering gradually to a rounded point.
Anamber bead was found in the cave earth with the usual mammalian remains:. Ellipsoidal in form with a cylindrical perforation at its centre.
