Dark curvilinear vegetation marks which have possibly formed over earthwork ditches are visible on digital images derived from oblique aerial photographs taken in 1948, off Battle Road, Bovey Tracey. The vegetation marks are only faintly visible and are partly obscured by tree cover, but possibly form a circular ring ditch circa 20m diameter. Possible traces of an outer earthwork bank are also visible to the west and although it has not been mapped it has been included within the monument polygon. Their proximity to Stover Park (MDV56726) to the south adds some support to the interpretation they represent a possible post-medieval or 19th century ornamental tree ring. An oval feature of a possible tree mound (MDV124270) and a cropmark ring ditch (MDV124269) recorded to the south may represent associated ornamental features. The vegetation marks are not visible on other available aerial imagery and the area has been developed for residential housing by 1999.
