A linear earthwork ditch, circa 13m wide, is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the east of Brocks Farm, Teigngrace. The north to south aligned ditch does not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps although does coincide with the River Bovey which meanders along the eastern edge of the earthwork ditch. Its regular form supports the interpretation that it represents a post-medieval or 19th century water channel, possibly diverting the flow of water from the River Bovey, which had passed out of use by the mid-19th. A natural origin should not, however, be entirely discounted.
