Summary

Hut circles '10' and '11' (Butler) in settlement at Scad Brook. A three-celled structure in the northern boundary of the enclosure of 10 metres by 12 metres with walls 1.8 metres wide by 0.8 metres high. A sub-rectangular structure on east side of the hut of 9 metres by 11 metres with walls 1.2 metres wide by 0.8 metres high and an entrance to the north-east is possibly another hut circle

Full description

Butler, J., 1993, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Four - The South-East, 84, Map 56, Figure 56.2 (Monograph). SDV337765.

Depicted by Butler (but not numbered), adjoining the enclosure wall on the northern side of the settlement. Shown as a conjoined group of three structures, one at least probably a pen. Overgrown.

Visible on the aerial photography, close to the northern boundary of the settlement. Not clear whether there are in fact three huts here; needs confirmation on the ground.

Visited on 20th April 2021, surveyed and photographed. Hut 'L' a three-celled structure in the northern boundary of the enclosure, 10 metres north to south, 12 metres east to west, walls 1.8 metres wide, 0.8 metres high, probable hut circle. Hut 'M' is a sub-rectangular structure on east side of Hut 'L' of 9 metres north-west to south-east, 11 metres north-east to south-west, walls 1.2 metres wide, 0.8 metres high, entrance to north-east, possible hut circle.
