An oval feature, circa 13m long by 11m wide, is visible as a pale area of poor vegetation growth on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and as a darker vegetation mark on aerial photographs taken in 1964, to the north of Dunley Cross, Hennock. It is possibly visible as a slight earthwork and is of largely uncertain origin, although could represent spoil from a post-medieval or 19th century extractive pit, or could equally represent a natural feature. The possible earthwork is not visible on recent available aerial imagery.
