Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Semi-circular and oval shaped pits, between 11m to 17m long, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, within Ledge Wood, Bovey Tracey. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map. They are therefore interpreted as post-medieval or early-mid 19th century extractive pits which had likely passed out of use by this time. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover of ledge Wood.
