Earthworks of linear banks, circa 2m wide, narrow incised channels and a pit, circa 19m long are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948, to the south of Five Wyches Farm, Bovey Tracey. Additional earthworks are also possibly visible as a series of subtle channels and mounds within a copse to the immediate south, although given their uncertain origin and diffuse nature were not transcribed other than by an extent of area polygon. The earthworks do not correspond with any features shown in this location on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of the late 19th century which is shown as part woodland. They are interpreted as possible post-medieval of 19th century extractive workings, or else a possible medieval or post-medieval streamworks similar earthworks of which are recorded in proximity to the west MDV19917. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to dense tree cover.
