Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Curvilinear banks and hollows up to circa 10m wide and 210m long are visible as earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on the north-facing slopes overlooking Dawlish Water, east of Kennel Court, Ashcombe.
The visible features do not correspond with any field boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but care in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern, which has been characterised as derived from strip fields of medieval date.
The visible earthworks are interpreted as evidence of former field boundaries of probable medieval origin that were probably removed prior to circa 1840. The earthworks were not identified on more recent images available to the survey and have possibly been levelled.
