An earthwork pit, circa 13 by 16 metres in extent, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit, perhaps for a limestone quarry given the nearby limekilns and quarries depicted in the wider area on the late-19th century maps. However no features are depicted on the available historic mapping in this exact location, and the tithe apportionment records this plot as under arable cultivation, so this particular pit is likely to have fallen out of use by the mid-19th century.
