Royal Air Force, 1946, RAF/CPE/UK/1824, RAF/CPE/UK/1824 RP 4066-4067 04-NOV-1946 (Aerial Photograph). SDV352344.

Curvilinear ditches are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Shallow curvilinear ditches up to circa 5m wide and over 210m long are visible as earthworks
on aerial photographs of 1946, on the north-east-facing slopes south of Court Farm, Ashcombe.
The ditches might correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Ashcombe, although the correlation with the visible earthworks is not precise. The boundaries are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map of circa 1880.
The earthworks are interpreted as evidence of field boundaries probably of medieval date, removed between circa 1840 and 1880. The earthworks were not identified on more recent images available to the survey and have probably been levelled.
