South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The visible earthworks correspond with boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Dawlish.

The visible earthworks largely do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the OS 1880s First Edition 25inch map.

Curvilinear hollows and banks up to circa 4m wide are visible on aerial photographs of 1986 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible features correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Dawlish but, for the most part, not the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of circa 1880. The earthworks are interpreted as the remains of field boundaries of medieval origin, that were removed between circa 1840 and 1880.
