Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

A linear ditch up to circa 5m wide and 165m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1969 as an earthwork and cropmark. The visible feature does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern. It coincides with a tree, possibly evidence of former hedgerow planting, and is aligned on a dogleg in an extant boundary to the east. This might support interpretation of the visible earthwork and cropmark as a former field boundary of medieval to post-medieval date, that was removed prior to circa 1840.
