Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

A shallow irregularly shaped pit circa 25m across is visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the south of Tower Cottage on Little Haldon, Dawlish.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit depicted on the OS 1880s First Edition 25inch map. The pit is interpreted as a gravel pit of possible post-medieval to late 19th date that had passed out of use by circa 1880. A narrow hollow, probably an access track, is visible extending north-west from the pit towards the field boundary that coincides with the boundary with Ashcombe parish.
