Full description

Crowndale Wharf. A simple wharf located near Crowndale Farm has little firm evidence to help locate it. Used between 1805-1808 as a temporary terminus for goods carried from Tavistock towards Morwellham. The area immediately upstream of Canal Bridge no. 13, on the south-east side of the canal is the most likely site of this wharf, but the area is obscured by later remodelling of the ground surface.
