Turner, S.C., 2005 - 2006, Devon Historic Landscape Characterisation Mapping (Cartographic). SDV349122.

NERC, 2013, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution) Tellus: South Devon to Dartmoor, LIDAR SX98SW Tellus DTM 01-JUL-2013 to 31-AUG-2013 (Cartographic). SDV361514.

An earthwork hollow or pit is visible.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

A roughly circular shallow pit is visible as an earthwork circa 50m in diameter on aerial photographs of 1946 and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The pit does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but does correspond with a slight deviation in the field boundary abutting the north edge of the pit.
This might support the interpretation that the earthwork predates the field boundary.
The surrounding field pattern has been characterised by HLC as medieval enclosure but the regular boundaries in this location are more indicative of post-medieval enclosure.
The pit is interpreted as an extractive pit of probable medieval to post-medieval date.
