The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Teignmouth.

A curvilinear ditched bank up to 3m wide and almost 120m long is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on south-east facing combe slopes.
The earthworks might have been part of a water management system, perhaps associated with a catch-meadow to the west but are more likely the remains of a former boundary bank, probably of medieval origin.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey, and therefore probably passed out of use by circa 1840.
The eastern end of the bank has been levelled by modern development and the remaining bank is obscured from view by dense tree cover but is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
