(05/02/1992) SX 66638548 to SX 66708505 and SX 6698495 to SX 66608471. A leat channel formerly supplying a small tinner's reservoir (SX 68 SE 172). This feature is first visible at SX 66638548 in the head mire of Thornworthy Brook and curves around the E and S sides of Thornworthy Down towards the south-west corner of the currently cultivated land. It is disturbed by recent activity between SX 66708505 and SX 66698495. The second section runs south-south-west on the broad plateau south-east of Thornworthy Tor to SX 66608471.
The initial section measures 1.0 metres wide and survives to a maximum depth of 0.5 metres. It still possesses sharply cut sides. The second length is less well defined, a broad silted channel about 1.2 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep. The discrepancy in form may be due to the recutting of the first section. This was probably done either to divert surface water away from the cultivated land or to supplement the pot water leat for Thornworthy Farm.
