An irregularly shaped pit, circa 16m long by 8m wide, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1986 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or later available historic maps, although does coincide with an orchard shown on this map. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit which possibly pre-dates orchard MDV125147.
