Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Sub-oval pits, between 5m and 13m long, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the Parish Tithe Map of the mid-19th century, or on later available historic maps, which shows this area as woodland. The earthworks are interpreted as possible post-medieval or 19th century extractive or prospecting pits and are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
