Cropmarks of a sinuous ditch, circa 7m wide and northeast to southwest aligned, are visible on oblique aerial photographs taken in 1989. They do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps, but are broadly in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location. The cropmarks are recorded in proximity to a late prehistoric or Romano-British enclosure (MDV52030), circa 100m to the southeast. They are of largely uncertain origin, although are not obviously geological. They are interpreted variously as a field boundary, trackway or water channel of between prehistoric to post-medieval date which had likely passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
